Healthy Gums and Pregnancy

Did you know that the health of your gums can affect your pregnancy? Studies have shown that women who have periodontal disease are at a greater risk to deliver prematurely and deliver smaller babies. Pregnant women are also more prone to gingivitis due to hormonal changes within the body. The moral of the story is that if you're pregnant, it's especially important to have your gums evaluated and have your teeth cleaned.
