A question I often receive is, "How often should I come in for my checkup and cleaning?"  My answer is that I recommend coming in at least once every 6 months.  However, if a patient has a history of gum disease,  frequent cavities, or is a smoker  I may recommend they come in once every 4 months or even once every 3 months.  This will allow us to catch any problems at an earlier stage and make it more manageable.  It also helps us maintain more of a plaque free environment within the mouth.  The intervals between appointments may change as well based on changes within your oral health.  If we observe an improvement in your oral health between visits, we may even lengthen the duration needed between checkups.   As always, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to give us a call or send an email!
